Project Description

The shortage of PPE supplies for professionals in the healthcare setting, is a worldwide phenomenon. More specifically, dental professionals are private businesses and do not receive government support. They face several challenges with respect to sourcing PPE supplies. Data suggest Canada has only a handful of manufacturing facilities that produce surgical masks needed to meet the high demand. NM Engineering was involved in supporting local business by installing a fully automated mask-making machine (including automatic packaging) for PPE Supply Inc.. We designed and built a fully-automated, surgical mask-making machine with the capacity to produce 120 masks/minute. The fully-automated design reduces labor to a minimum, as one worker can operate five machines. A competitive price for the mask-making machine will considerably make it easier for NM Engineering to compete with the Chinese market.
